There are a couple of special requests to share today (Wednesday).
Ida D. is in the hospital with possible heart issues. She was having chest pains last night and was taken to the hospital and was later admitted. Tests will be ran today to determine a cause for the pain.

Also Beulah S. will be having surgery today on her hand. She has struggled for a long time with pain in her hands, wrists, ankles and feet and has undergone several surgeries. Please keep her in your prayers today for a successful surgery and good recovery.

Remember the mid-week services tonight: Youth Bible Study at 6:30 PM, M&Ms (missions for children ages 2 - 5th grade) and adult prayer meeting.

Super Sunday School Suggestions

Some suggestion for a great hour of Sunday School are as follows:

1. Regular attendance
Don't miss anything...be a regular!
2. Be on time.
That way, you won't miss any part of the fun!
3. Bring your Bible.
A great habit to start.
4. Bring an offering.
Teach the children the blessing of giving to God.
5. Respect the house of God.
As we enter His house, let us honor Him in our words, attitudes and dress.

Sunday School is one of the most important ministries of the church. It is a place where God's Word is taught, fellowship is shared and bonds of friendship are formed and strengthened. If you are not currently attending Sunday School, you are invited. There is a class for every age. If you are a regular attender, share God's love with others by keeping them in your prayers and letting others know when they are missed.

Monday Funny

Intercede I-366

The year 2008 brings a unique opportunity to the Florida Baptists. As a leap year, the year of the United States presidential election and the 40th anniversary of the Jesus Movement, the time is ripe for God to bring a Spiritual Awakening among his people. The year 2008 offers Florida Baptists an extra day to pray and witness.

“I-366” is the Journey Road for prayer and witness in year 2008. It is the ‘interstate’ where God’s heart, your heart, and the hearts of those around you connect. It is the Connection Point ‘Interstate’ where “I-Intercede” for others on the Journey.

Our church has committed to a 24-hour time of prayer from 7:00 AM June 20 to 7:00 AM June 21. Church family are encouraged to sign up for a 30 minute increment to pray on these dates. You may pray at home, at work, in the car (with your eyes open!), during your committed prayer time. Please see this link - on Churches Praying 366 for more information about churches around our state being involved in prayer.

Mid Week Sermon Recap

Sunday's sermon was very encouraging and inspiring for today's families. During the day and time where the family is being attacked and degraded, this sermon offers practical suggestions to keep our homes functioning smoothly with godly values.

Principals For A Healthy Home

1. Be A Good Parent: Twofold responsibility from God's Word. For children - they are instructed to honor and obey their parents. Parents are instructed to train children in the ways of the Lord and bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
2. Manage the Home Well: For homes to function smoothly, there needs to be some organization and godly leadership. Everyday things need attending to and leadership and spiritual instruction are vital.
3. Take Time For Each Other: Parents are instructed in Scripture to teach their children and impress the love and knowledge of God into their children at all times. Godly values are more caught than taught! This is best done by being together - a lot!
4. Set A Good Example: A good example needs to always be before the children of good, moral values. Things like honesty, integrity, a pattern of good works need to be visiable in a godly home.
5. Let Love Be A Way Of Life: In I Corinthians 13 - the characteristics of love are shared. Love and loving actions need to be pursued! Love is a must for a godly home.
6. Put God In His Rightful Place: Psalm 127:1 tells that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. When God is in control of the home, there is a sense of purpose of divine direction for the family unit.

Let's continue to be inspired to cultivate godliness in all that we do in our homes and lives.

Prayer Request

We would like to share a special prayer request we received. Lowell L.'s brother Todd is 44 and has suffered brain cancer for a while. He has in the past undergone surgery to remove the cancer and part of his brain and successfully came through that.

This week he suffered a stroke and was life flighted to a hospital in another town. There it was discovered that he has another brain tumor. Please pray for the doctors as they decide what treatment he needs and for Todd and his family as they endure this difficult time.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is fast approaching and will be Sunday. Part of the celebration at Antioch will be a time for honoring each mother with a small gift. Our M&M children will be singing a special song they have been working hard on. A special drawing will be for two nice prizes for mothers!

Mother's Day is also the day we collect an offering for the Florida Baptist Children's Home. We are honored to partner with the Children's Home with Florida Baptists. We can celebrate that together, we have impacted the lives of more than 30,000 children and families. This ministry is changing the lives and eternities of children throughout the state. Right now children need our help more than ever. Over 155,000 children were reported neglected or abused in Florida. We can help make a difference with our prayers, support and financial gifts. This will make a difference that will last for generations. Please give generously.

Senior Adult Day - This Sunday

Sunday is designated as Senior Adult Day at Antioch. This day is set aside to honor and show love and appreciation to our senior adults.
Through the years, the senior adults have laid the foundation for generations to follow their example in Christian living and church service. As our church reflects on the faithfulness, love and service of our seniors, it is a joy to honor them and let them know how much we appreciate all they are and have done.
A special lunch will be provided for all senior adults after morning worship on Sunday. Thank you again for living a legacy through Christ! We love you!
