National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4.  The theme this year is 'For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us... Forgive Us...Heal Us!'  Taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God...”

As the 2017 National Day of Prayer on May 4th approaches, thousands of individuals, churches, and communities will be working to rally millions of Christian’s to once again heed this call.  Our community will gather in front of City Hall beginning at 12:10 PM on Thursday.

Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. That our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history.

At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray.  Thank you in advance for making this spiritual discipline a personal priority and for standing with us as we encourage others to incorporate prayer in their lives.  The Lord has graciously anointed our efforts, empowering them to touch and change many hearts and lives.  We look forward to seeing His hand move across our land in exciting ways each May in response to our petitions!  In closing, we ask that you prayerfully consider becoming a volunteer in your church or community to lead a National Day of Prayer gathering. May the Lord’s peace fill your heart as you rest in Him throughout the days ahead.

Let's Do the Can-Can!

Love INC

Love In the Name of Christ which is a local ministry, is undergoing a ‘Yes We Can-Can Campaign’ to assist with funds for the needs they meet.  Cans are available for you to place change into to support this local ministry. All funds are used to help meet needs in our community.

Be encouraged to share your change and place in a can at church, or take one home to fill.

Love Inc is a local mission in our own community.  Love In the Name of Christ is uniquely designed to meet the deepest, real needs of our neighbors.  Each Love INC affiliate responds to these needs, along with the material needs, of people who struggle with life’s challenges who live in their communities.

Love In the Name of Christ’s vision is to see Christian churches united in purpose and fully engaged in actively living out their faith by lovingly serving people in need in their communities.  May we be encouraged to show support for Love INC and help meet local needs in our community.

Children's Easter or Walk for Christ

This Saturday there is something for everyone to do as we prepare to celebrate Easter!

Our Children's Easter Celebration begins at 10:00 AM at the church. We will gather all children in the sanctuary at 10:00 AM for a time of singing and devotion.  From there we will participate in some fun games and activities followed by an egg hut (with over 1,000 eggs!!).  The celebration will conclude with a free lunch for all.  Please be encouraged to bring some children to celebrate the true  meaning of Easter with us.  If you don't have children, please come and assist us as we seek to minister to the community. We can use volunteers in all areas.  We can also use desserts to go with our lunch!

There will also be a community wide walk for Christ on Saturday.  "Who Do You Follow" will begin at the stadium and work through town in an effort to share a Christian message.  You can walk or ride, but do plan to come and support our church and community as we stand for Christ.

Thank You!

Through the month of January, Antioch partnered with our local Pregnancy Care Center in a Baby Bottle Boomerang. We filled baby bottles with our loose change and returned them as a means of support for the center. Through your generosity, our church was able to give $772.00 to help with the center, to minister in our community and to speak love and life through our actions.

Mrs. Charlotte (who is a weekly volunteer at the center)  is presenting with appreciation our pastor a certificate from the Pregnancy Care Center. Thank you church!

Special Sunday

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter that begins the Holy Week. It is the day that we remember and celebrate the day Jesus entered into Jerusalem as Savior and King. As Jesus rode a donkey into the town of Jerusalem a large crowd gathered and laid palm branches and their cloaks across the road, giving Jesus royal treatment. The hundreds of people shouted "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"

On the heels of Palm Sunday, as we begin this Holy Week, may we constantly be reminded of its significance and value for our lives today. That very important day in history, when Jesus began His journey towards the cross.  We have so much to be grateful for this week.

In this Holy Week, may God direct our thoughts and attention towards what matters most, Jesus Christ our King.. Let's choose to focus on worshiping our Lord, thanking Him for the gift of His sacrifice, celebrating the power of the Resurrection, and the new life found in Him alone.

In Sunday morning's service, we will be observing the Lord's Supper.  What a beautiful time to partake and engage in this sacred ordinance. May our hearts be prepared to worship Him and celebrate His love and sacrifice.

5th Sunday Night Sing

Happy April!  This is a month full of activities and a time to celebration the bedrock of our faith - Jesus and His death and resurrection.

April is also a month with 5 Sundays and that means a 5th Sunday Night Sing!  Be encouraged to begin now to pray and ask the Lord to use you to be a blessing.  It is always a joy to hear church family sharing a talent, testimony or Scripture.  It builds and blesses us as a church family.  Mark the date and be open to the leading of the Lord!

Easter Candy Needed Please

Our Children's Easter Celebration will be held on April 15 beginning at 10:00 AM.  This is a wonderful outreach for children and families to come together for a time of fun, games, an egg hunt and lunch. While enjoying the celebration of the season, we share the true meaning of Easter, the love for us shown through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

We are asking the church family for donations of individually wrapped candy to share during the Easter celebration.  There is a box in the foyer to receive your donations.
