S.T.A.R.S.

During December, the S.T.A.R.S. offered the ministry opportunity to the church to help provide clothes and toys at Christmas for a local family.  As usual, the abundance of blessing passed through our church to this family. Our S.T.A.R.S. are so appreciative.  Here is a letter from them:

Dear Antioch Family
The STARS would like to thank you for your outpouring of gifts and love that you provided to the our Adopted children at Christmas. There is no end to your Generosity and Helping Hands when called upon. These children will be warm this winter, have nice clothes to wear and toys & bikes to enjoy.  You provided coats, sweaters, shoes,  PJ’s, dresses,  pants, shirts, special toys that will make their eyes POP!
When asked what their big wish for Christmas was, they replied a Coat. . . Well, this is a Christmas they will never forget.  What a Blessing you have provided for these children who have so little.  I Thank You for your gifts, your self-sacrificing and support you provided so freely.  We Praise Our Lord for being part of This Wonderful Antioch Family that has a Heart of Gold and
Serve the Lord so Greatly!   God Bless you

Supporting Life

Sunday was Sanctity of Human Life where the message preached was sobering.  We were reminded that the culture we live in does not value life as God does.  He has created each one in His image and each of us are fearfully and wonderfully made.

These ladies are able to be a part of our local Pregnancy Care Center and they invite you to share the call of life in our community.  There are baby bottles available to you to take, fill with change and return to the church. All of these donations go to our Pregnancy Care Center to assist them as they share and embrace the sanctity of life.

Supporting Life

The month of January is known as Sanctity of Human Life month, where we set aside time to reflect on the fact that each life is created by God and precious.

Our church leadership values the sanctity of life and regular shares the biblical view of life from the pulpit, but also engages the church to action as we support our local Pregnancy Care Center several times throughout the year.

Antioch is actively involved in our local center's Walk 4 Life, Annual Banquet and regularly gives donations through the Baby Bottle Boomerang.  In addition, our pastor's wife regularly volunteers at the center as part of the sonographer team.  Many women within our community see the heartbeat of their unborn child for the very first time, under the compassionate loving care of our Sonography team. We deeply appreciate those who share the biblical values in word and also in deed.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day.

Sanctity of Human Life Week is a special event in which thousands of churches across the nation take time to recognize the value and sanctity of human life.

 The Bible tells us that we are created and purposed from our mother's womb, but the dignity of life goes so far beyond that. We are called to be voices and advocates for all life, and especially for those who cannot speak for themselves.

When we choose to see people as God does, we are moved to love others in a way that honors our creator. Being pro-life is a worldview -a life view- that should transcend culture, class, race, age and opinion. From the formation of a child's first tiny cell, to life's final breath, all life has inherent dignity and value.

We will celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday this Sunday the 15th. We will be reminded of the beauty and sanctity of all life that is created by God.  This day will also begin our Baby Bottle Boomerang which helps support our local Pregnancy Care Center.

All He Needs Is a Piece of Clay

Our sermon this week was a beautiful reminder of God's new beginnings.  He is the potter and can mold, remold and remake us as we yield to His powerful touch.

Many of us need a new beginning, God is the God of second chances and God is the God of new beginnings.
God is in the transformation business. He sees in our clay the potential to be a vessel of honour. God doesn’t need gold, silver, and a superstar. He simply says give Me your clay.

God says:
“I’ll bring treasures out of trash,
 I’ll bring Jewels out of junk;
I’ll bring glory out of garbage,
I’ll bring riches out of rubbish;
I’ll bring diamonds out of debris;
I’ll bring righteousness out of rift raft;
I’ll bring worship out of waste;
I’ll bring majesty out of mess;
I’ll bring deliverance to the drug addict;
 I’ll bring praise out of a prostitute;
I’ll bring hallelujah out of a homosexual.”

God won’t give up on you. God won’t toss you out on the scrap heap. God won’t dismiss you as a lost cause and discard you as hopeless. God takes the clay we yield to Him and starts all over again rebuilding life after life, time after time. God is willing to start over again shaping you into another vessel as it seems best to Him. The only prerequisite is that you give Him your clay, that you give Him your life.

Ladies Bible Study Beginning This Week!!

Front Cover

A new Ladies Bible Study will begin on Wednesday January 4.  "Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman" will be the study.  We will be doing an introduction to the study this Wednesday with the opportunity to purchase books (they will be $8.00).

Here is a description of the study..."For many women, the Proverbs 31 woman is too perfect. But in reality, she is an ordinary woman who made herself available to an extraordinary God--and became a tremendous blessing to everyone around her. "Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman" reveals how women can let God work through them by... discerning the true priorities in life cultivating character qualities valued by family and friends pursuing excellence in all they do It "is" possible for a woman to make the treasures of the Proverbs 31 woman real in her life--and become the woman God designed her to be!"

All ladies are welcome to participate.  We will be meeting on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM with the possibility of a morning class if there is enough interest.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  If you have been in any of this week's services, our pastor encouraged us to do a few things in celebration of leaving 2016 behind and embracing 2017 with eagerness and hope.

Remembering 2016.  Write down one blessing, one answered prayer and one regret from the year.

Embracing 2017.  Be encouraged to write down 3 things you would like to strive for in the following areas:
Spiritual
Physical
Any other area

It is our prayer that 2017 will find us a a church, in our families, jobs, communities and world a shining light for Jesus.

Welcome, 2017

I Am the New Year

I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.

I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months.

All that you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination.

All the good that you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.

All that you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have—these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose.

I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new."
