Prayer Request

A prayer request went out today through the prayer chain we want to make you aware of.
Jason Mc. has been suffering with stomach pain recently. He went to the doctor today (Monday) and they discovered a mass on his liver. He will go tomorrow for further testing and scans.
We will continue to update on his condition, but you are asked to be in prayer for Jason and his family and for the doctors to have wisdom in diagnosing and treating him.

Children's Christmas Program Practice

The children will be presenting a special program to celebrate the Savior's birth. There are many children who will be participating. The program will be December 13 in the evening service beginning at 6:00 PM. There will be a few special practices scheduled for the children as the program is rapidly approaching.

Here is a list of practices:

Wednesday night ~ at 6:30 (after the children have ate at the Family Meal)

Friday - After the children go caroling at the Surrey Place, they will return to the church at 5:00 PM. In between the party time 5:00-7:00 PM, we will try to squeeze a practice in!

Sunday - December 6 - Dress Rehearsal at 5:00 PM. Moms, your help in dressing the little angels would be appreciated!

Sunday - December 13 - please have the children at the church at 5:15

Thanks for your support and help with the children practicing! You will be blessed as they share a special program filled with Christmas cheer!

Monday's Verse

Why should we be concerned about our future?

The verse for today is Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

This Week...

This week we will usher in December and also several opportunities for this week. But the greatest opportunity will be the challenge our pastor presented us to read (and memorize) a verse a day this week. Make sure and check the blog each day for the verse of the day this week!
Here is a quick run down of things going on this week:
Wednesday ~ Family Meal at 6:00 PM. Bring a covered dish and enjoy a special time of fellowship. This will also be our church Christmas meal together.
Thursday ~ Deacons' banquet at 6:30 PM. Meet at Grace Manor
Friday ~ Children's Christmas caroling. Children meet at church at 3:30 PM for a time to sing and bless the residents of Surrey Place. Following will be a Christmas party at the church. Kids are asked to bring a Christmas dessert - cookie etc. for the party. Children will be finished and ready to be picked up at 7:00 PM.
Remember as we go about through the Christmas season to remember God's great gift to us - Jesus!

Gratitude Service Sunday Night

Sunday night beginning at 6:00 will be a special time to show gratitude for our blessings. There are several things planned that you won't want to miss.

Many of our children will be sharing in the service with songs, skits and Scripture reading.
The adult choir will bring a rousing favorite you will enjoy.

There is still opportunity for you to share in this special service. You are welcome to share a song, testimony or a special Scripture. This is a beautiful way to count and share our blessings.

Following the service we will meet in the fellowship hall for refreshments. Please plan to bring a finger food or dessert to share.

"I will extol You, my God, O King.
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day will I bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly
to be praised.
And His greatness is unsearchable."
Psalms 145:1-3

Good Reasons To Count Your Blessings!

Counting Our Blessings

Counting our blessings is good practice.

1. It makes us get along with people better

2. It makes us look around us instead of within us.

3. It makes us more considerate and sympathetic.

4. It causes us to live for others, not ourselves.

5. It makes us a blessing instead of a burden.

6. It corrects our perspective of life.

7. It strengthens our inner resources of faith and hope.

8. It increases our confidence for living.

9. It increases our awareness of God.
