Children's Ministry Day

February 14 is Children's Ministry Day - a day set aside to do a project that involves children in direct ministry to unchurched community members.

This year’s theme is “All for You.” How can the girls and boys in your church give all they have to God as they reach your community?  There is a ministry project in the works for Antioch's children this year.  Watch for more details and be encouraged to have your children there on February 14!

7-UP

Last Wednesday night, our pastor shared an easy method to get into the habit of praying daily, - before the busyness and interruptions of the day begin.  For 7 days, get UP - and first thing, pray for 7 minutes.  It's called 7-UP and several of our church family are taking the challenge this week.

Be encouraged to jump in!  Prayer is vital to the life of a Christian and when the day starts off first with prayer, we are equipped to face any challenges that may come our way!

Arrangements

The arrangements have been set for Joan S.  Visitation will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Antioch with funeral following at 11:00 AM.  Following burial, a lunch will be served.  Church family is welcome and encouraged to bring a covered food dish to share.

Home-going and Prayers

Our Christian sister Joan S.who has been very ill the last few weeks has passed away.  We rejoice that within the last year, Joan accepted the Lord and became a Christian.  The living hope we receive from God's Word assures us and comforts us in times like these.

Be encouraged to keep Joan's family in your prayers.  This family has endured many heartaches and trying times in the last few years.  As God has done before, He can bring comfort and strength.

Details of her arrangements will be shared as they become available

Ladies Bible Study

There will be a one day ladies Bible Study on January 24 beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.

The study will be Sacred Secrets by Beth Moore and will be divided into 4 segments.  Study will begin at 10:00 AM with a break for lunch and resuming until 2:00 PM.  All ladies are welcome and encouraged to take part.

Jesus wants to spend secret time with you—an interior relationship that's unique to just you two. Sacred Secrets is the new 6-session study from Beth Moore that explores the theology of secrets. Secrets can be good or harmful. Some need forgiveness, and some should be kept between you and God. While Sacred Secrets is lighter than Beth's typical Bible studies, it does not lack richness or quality. Discussion potential abounds without any expectation of revealing personal, private information. Join Beth to find out what happens when we let God teach us "wisdom in the secret heart" (Psalm 51:6, ESV).

A Month of "Undie Sundays"

Our S.T.A.R.S. (widows ministry) are hosting a month of "Undie Sundays" beginning in January.  They are collecting new undergarments - socks, underwear, t-shirts in all sizes from newborn up to adult sizes to share with the Guardian Ad Litem program.

Guardian Ad Litem is a community program that helps meet the needs of families in crisis. Often when a family crisis occurs, Guardian Ad Litem has to remove a child quickly for their safety.  They often leave without any clothes or belongings.  When a collection of new undergarments are readily available, it fills a great need for the children.

Be encouraged to take part in this collection, what we share can make a huge impact in the life of our local children.
