Sermon Refresher

A very powerful Scripture was shared in the message Sunday morning. Here is a recap with hopes that it will bless you and remind you that we serve a holy God.
"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim, each one had six wings, wtih two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!"
Isaiah 6:1-3
Remember tonight (Wednesday), the youth will be setting up for the fall festival at 6:30 PM, there will be M&Ms at 7:00 PM, where the children are practicing for the Christmas program and adult prayer meeting will be at 7:00 PM. Hope to see you there!

Events This Week

There are a lot of activities this week for the youth and children at Antioch.

Wednesday night will be M&Ms and adult prayer meeting at 7:00. The youth should meet at the church at 6:30 and they will begin setting up for the fall festival which will be Friday.

Thursday night the youth will go to Lake City to tour Judgement House. Please pray for this trip that many hearts will be touched. The group will leave the church at 4:30 PM. There may be a wait to get in, but following the tour they will go out to eat. There is no admission fee for the Judgement House, but youth will need money to eat dinner. We are hoping to return to the church by 9:00 PM.

Friday night will be the Fall Festival! This is going to be a fun filled evening which will begin at 6:00 with a light dinner. Dinner will be followed by a time of games, prizes, pony rides, bounce house, cotton candy and popcorn machines. A cake walk will be held and a hay ride will round out the activities. There will be something for everyone, so bring the family and invite a guest for a great time!

Behind the Scenes

There are always a few people who stay in the background, don't want attention or recogntion, but their desire is to get things done. Our church has a few of these special people! Some people decorated the fellowship hall beautifully for Homecoming and other fall events. Here are a few of the decorations:

Our kitchen crew keeps things running smoothly and efficiently. Here are a few of them who helped out with the Homecoming food and kitchen activities.

Homecoming was a very special day and it takes everyone working together for special times to go so smoothly. Thank you to all of you, especially those "behind the scenes".

Prayer Guide For Elections

Prayer Guide for the Presidential Election

It is critical that Christians pray for the coming presidential election. There is amazing power in united prayer. Please print out this prayer guide and pray daily until the election. Pray with others whenever possible. The power of prayer can overcome any obstacle or ungodly influence and, indeed, do great things!

10/03 - 10/09 - Proverbs 1:5-6

Pray that God's man will listen with discernment, add to his knowledge, and receive wise counsel in this campaign.

10/10- 10/16 - John 16:33

Pray that the man of God's choice would be given wisdom and ability from the Lord to overcome any obstacle or difficulty during this campaign.

10/17- 10/23 – Acts 17:30

Pray for repentance for yourself and for our nation.

10/24-10/30 – Luke 12:54 -57
Pray that God's man and our nation will be discerning and do what is right.

10/31- 11/06 – Phil. 4:13
Pray that the Lord's choice for President will have special strength and unusual ability from God.

11/07-11/11 – Habakkuk 1:5 and 3:2
Pray that the Lord would do something that would utterly amaze us and give His servant victory.

During the days of Nov. 4-11, be encouraged to set aside a time of fasting during these days to commit this election to the Lord in whom we put our trust. Prov. 3:5

Remember 2 Chronicle 7:14: 'If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Sunday Blessings

May our hearts glory in God today and always. For He is in control of everything!

Thank You

A very special thank goes to each one who provided food, support, prayers or help with the services for Claudie B. The family was wrapped in Christian love during the week as they lost dear Claudie. The service was beautiful with many testifying to the love, service and devotion of Claudie and recounting fond memories of her life. The lunch was as always a ministry to the family and there was an abundance of food. Thank you to each one for this ministry.
Please continue to keep Claudie's family in your prayers.

Services For Claudie B.

The services have been set for Claudie B. The viewing will be Wednesday night from 7:00 - 8:00 PM and the funeral will be Thursday at 4:00 PM at Antioch.
The Antioch family will be preparing a lunch for the family following the service. Ladies, your ministry of cooking and caring for the family is such a blessing to families during times like these. Claudie has a very large family that we are able to minister to through this lunch. Thank you for sharing and for helping.

Homegoing of Claudie B.

Our church family is saddened with the news of Claudie B.'s passing away early this morning. Claudie will be greatly missed in our church family. Her love of the Lord was reflected in all that she did and all that she was. She was energetic and bubbled over with love and excitement and always sought a way to be a blessing to the church and others. Her heart was filled with the desire to minister to others and she enjoyed various trips with our youth and also attended a church mission trip where she blessed others with her heart for the people in that area. She brought home the desire to minister and faithfully prayed and loved the people in West Virginia.
We rejoice and find comfort that she is no longer in pain or dealing with disease, but enjoying the glories of heaven and worshiping the Heavenly Father.
Please keep her family in your prayers and there will be more details when they become available.

Fall Festival

Antioch will be hosting a Fall Festival October 31. This promises to be a great time of fun, games, prizes and fellowship for everyone. The activities will begin at 6:00 PM with a light supper. From 6:45 - 8:00 PM a carnival will be held outdoors with games, bounce house, pony rides, cotton candy, lots of prizes for people of all ages (adults included) and trunk or treat! Following the carnival will be a cake walk followed by a hay ride to complete the evening. Everyone is invited to come, bring the family and some guests!
Church family is encouraged to bring donations of bagged candy and/or a cake for the cake walk. Please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin board.

Great Sunday

It is wonderful to be able to think on Monday morning - how good it was to be in the house of the Lord! Antioch has been blessed lately with great attendance, great services and to see God working and moving in lives. Yesterday was no exception. Good Sunday School attendance, a good word from the Lord in the preaching, a full nursery (12 children!) and a family coming forward to join the church. Praise the Lord!
Other highlights were a youth luncheon and fellowship which was well attended and some great ideas were put into place for the youth. Wonderful testimonies were given from a recent widow's conference and prayerful plans for a widows/grief ministry in our church, M&Ms had a great turnout of children last night and at choir practice, we were overflowing!
As we enjoy these blessings in our church, let's continue to be steadfast in prayer for our church and be alert for opportunities to welcome the new families and to show love to one another.
Some needs to be aware of this week are as follows:

Claudie B. is still very low, pain, seizures and she is not eating well.
Frances P. has some testing this week.
Caroline's mother is in the hospital in NC.
Carol A. is doing better and is recovering at Surrey Place.
The new family - Pat and Sandy R.'s daughter and soon to be born baby girl.

Please remember these and others on the back of the bulletin in your prayers.

Sunday Blessings

Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song I will praise Him.
