Funny For the Day

This evangelist was going to this town to preach a revival and he stopped at a gas station to get some gas. A little boy walked past him while he was pumping the gas and so the evangelist asked the little boy did he know how to get to the First Baptist church? The little boy told him to go up to the light and take a left and it was on the right.
Then the evangelist asked the little boy did he want to hear how to get to heaven. The little boy said no. The evangelist asked the little boy why he didn’t want to know how to get to heaven? The little boy told the evangelist;…You don’t even know how to get to the church.

Promise Keepers - For Men

Promise Keepers is a catalytic event for men, challenging them to embrace their calling to lead their families, churches, and communities in worship of, and obedience to, Jesus the Messiah. Through powerful worship and anointed preaching, men are called out to become everything that God has created them to be, and then to return to their families, churches, and communities with a commitment to hear and obey God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Since the birth of Promise Keepers, a focus on the Word of God has been central.  When "The Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper" was created, the very first promise was grounded on this necessary truth:
Promise One of the Seven Promises is:
A Promise Keeper is committed to honoring Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and obedience to God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Week of Prayer For Home Missions

The Week of Prayer for Home Missions is coming up in March.  Here are a few facts taken from the Florida Baptist Convention about the Cooperative Program:

Through the Cooperative Program, Florida Baptists are partnering together with Southern Baptists throughout the world to change lives of men and women, boys and girls with the saving message of Jesus Christ.

By doing together what we cannot do alone, lives are being transformed simultaneously in communities near and far through the commitment of Florida Baptists to take the Great Commission to their neighborhoods and around the globe.
Share with your members something specific that is being accomplished through the Cooperative Program:
·        4,822 international missionaries are funded through the Cooperative Program.
·        7,300 Florida Baptist volunteers are trained in disaster relief, making the Southern Baptist Convention the third largest disaster relief provider in the nation.
·        105 new churches were started last year in Florida.
·        1,500 students are being trained through theological education provided in Florida.
·        49,000-plus new Christians were baptized and taught to share their faith through
evangelistic outreach emphases.

Update on Ministry Opportunity

We recently shared about a local family of 8 who lost their home in a fire.  Our community and local churches are reaching out and offering assistance to them during this time.

Currently the greatest need is for clear storage containers.  The family has a limited space for donations and it would help greatly to organize what is coming in and be able to see which container it is in. .If you have any containers or would like to donate some, please bring them to the church and they will be delivered to the family.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

Ministry Opportunity

A local family of 8 - 6 children and 2 adults lost their home this week in a house fire. Along with other churches and our community, we would like to reach out and share with this family as they have lost all of their belongings in the fire.

The greatest need right now is for household items - towels, sheets, kitchen supplies, etc. and containers to store the donated items in.  Please pray about what the Lord would direct you to do to share with this family in need.  Donations  can be brought to the church and will be taken to the family.  Please keep this family in your prayers as they face this difficult time in their lives.

Our monthly Family Meal will be this Wednesday!  This is always a blessed time as we share a meal and fellowship around the table before mid week service.  The meal begins at 6:00 PM followed by ministries for the entire family.  Please plan to bring a covered food dish to share and enjoy a special time with the church family!
