Have you been missing the choir? They add so much to our worship service and as they are taking summer break our prayer is that they are being refreshed and refilled and ready to lead our worship services!
Practices will resume August 14. The choir practices Sunday nights after worship service (7:00 PM). If you are interested in becoming a part of this ministry, please see Dianne Mc. and plan to attend practice that night.
Psalms 100 is a familiar psalm of praise and encouragement. In it, the reader is called to praise God for who He is and for what He does. Sometimes the familiar can become mundane, but let's take a fresh look at seven imperatives through this Psalm:
Shout triumphantly - not just screaming but joyful shouting to the Lord.
Serve the Lord - not begrudgingly or halfheartedly, but with gladness.
Come before Him - not just with repetitious singing but joyful singing.
Enter His gates - come into His church with a thankful heart.
Enter His courts - come into His presence with a spirit of worship, not a spirit of grumbling.
Give thanks to Him - let your heart overflow with gratitude to the Lord.
Praise His name - with the whole body of believers, bless His name corporately.
May our hearts be challenged and ready to come to church with praise to our Lord!
Vacation Bible School is coming up July 25-29 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This is always a great time of fun and learning about God's Word. There will be classes for children and youth (grades 7-12) each day.
If you are helping or interested in helping out in VBS, there will be a meeting Sunday at 5:00 PM in the church fellowship hall. You are encouraged to come!
We all know men and women are wired completely different. They think, feel and act with their own individual God given qualities. It’s also a known fact that men may not always think or act with as much intensity as women!
Rense gives a glimpse into the differences of men in “Why Men Die First”. Here are a few glimpses:
For several months we have shared the project of a new church sign. This is a glimpse
of what this sign would look like. There has been a fund open for donations toward the church sign and our church family has given generously toward the cost of the sign.
As we seek to be good stewards, the church voted instead of pulling the money for the sign out of church funds, to offer the church family the opportunity to give towards the cost which will be approximately $8,500.00. The sign fund has approximately $5,500.00 which has been given. In Wednesday's business meeting a decision will be made about the sign. For the sign to be in place by Homecoming (October 9), the order must be placed by early August. The fund will continue to be open to receive donations if approval is voted on to purchase the sign.
Thank you all who have supported the fund and everyone is encouraged to come to business meeting and take part in decisions for the church.
We have been praying for Kortney A. who is Lisa and Russell L.'s niece. Her family requested that she be lifted up as Kortney is back in the hospital in Gainesville. She is not doing well at all and is going through more tests to see if they can determine what is causing these severe health issues.
Please keep Kortney and her family lifted up in prayer.
Men, have you signed up for the Men's Fish Off? This Saturday at 5:00 AM, our men will meet with boats in tow for a day of local fishing. Gather your boats, sons or grandsons and enjoy a great day filled with fun, fellowship and some fantastic fishing! Please contact Buddy H. for more information or if you plan to participate.
Our pastor will celebrate his 10th pastoral anniversary at Antioch. As a recognition and opportunity to express appreciation there will be a special service on Sunday. Bro. Dave will not preach, but there will be special guests and activities lined up in the morning service. Following the service, everyone is encouraged to attend a special lunch provided by the church to share your love and support for Bro. Dave and Caroline. Please make plans to share and be a part of expressing our appreciation for their faithful service to our church.
