Psalms 100 - Our Attitude For Worship

Psalms 100 is a familiar psalm of praise and encouragement.  In it, the reader is called to praise God for who He is and for what He does.  Sometimes the familiar can become mundane, but let's take a fresh look at seven imperatives through this Psalm:

  • Shout triumphantly - not just screaming but joyful shouting to the Lord.
  • Serve the Lord - not begrudgingly or halfheartedly, but with gladness.
  • Come before Him - not just with repetitious singing but joyful singing.
  • Enter His gates - come into His church with a thankful heart.
  • Enter His courts - come into His presence with a spirit of worship, not a spirit of grumbling.
  • Give thanks to Him - let your heart overflow with gratitude to the Lord.
  • Praise His name - with the whole body of believers, bless His name corporately.

May our hearts be challenged and ready to come to church with praise to our Lord!
