See You At the Pole
CONVERGE—come together, unite, connect...
A small group of teenagers in Burleson, Texas, came together for a DiscipleNow weekend in early 1990. They came seeking God and little did they know how powerfully He was about to move. On Saturday night their hearts were penetrated like never before, when they became broken before God and burdened for their friends. Compelled to pray, they drove to three different schools that night. Not knowing exactly what to do, they went to the school flagpoles and prayed for their friends, schools, and leaders. Those students had no idea how God would use their obedience.
God used what He did among those teenagers and others who were holding similar prayer meetings at their schools to birth a vision in the hearts of youth leaders across Texas. The vision was that students throughout Texas would follow these examples and meet at their school flagpoles to pray simultaneously. The challenge was named See You at the Pole™ at a brainstorming session during a meeting of key youth leaders.
Join students around the world September 28, 2011, for See You at the Pole™, the Global Day of Student Prayer. Be a part of something much bigger than your own local campus—join the movement! Be encouraged, challenged, and blessed to experience what God is doing globally. Regardless of the church group or the school peer group you are apart of, gather with everyone and pray. Converge!
The 2011 See You at the Pole theme verse is a promise from Scripture that is one of the most popular and quoted throughout history by believers. "Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you. Matthew 18:20 CEV"
Please encourage our children to participate in See You At the Pole on September 28 before school!

Ten Spiritual Tonics
TEN SPIRITUAL TONICS
Stop worrying. Worry kills life.
Begin each day with a prayer. It will arm your soul.
Controll appetite. Over-indulgence clogs body and mind.
Accept your limitations. All of us can't be great (God has different jobs for different people).
Don't envy. It wastes time and energy.
Have faith in people. Cynicism sours the disposition.
Find a hobby. It will relax your nerves.
Read a book a week to stimulate imagination and broaden your view.
Spend some time alone, for the peace of solitude and silence.
Try to want what you have, instead of spending your strength trying to get what you want.
Abraham L. Feinberg

Lewis Gooch who will bring the message and is a long time friend of Antioch and the Lighthouse Children's Home Choir. Cry Out America Rally
COA 2011 from World Impact TV on Vimeo.
The purpose of the Awakening America Alliance is to:
•Provide a broad umbrella under which the body of Christ in America can unite together in seeking a contemporary spiritual awakening.
•Issue a wake-up call for revival in the church and a Christ awakening in the nation by utilizing unified activity, various forms of media, and highly visible events.
•Collaborate together in prayer, fasting, and God inspired action to impact the nation's non-Christian population.
•Challenge today's church in welcoming and discipling new generations of American youth.
On September 11, 2001, America was shaken to its foundation by a series of surprise terrorist attacks. All of us were awakened to the new reality of global terrorism. 10 years later our nation needs to be awakened again, not just to the threats of terrorism, but to our critical spiritual condition.
Americans are now in desperate need of a fresh Christ Awakening. Our economy has been deeply shaken. Overall church attendance continues to decline across the nation, America is now the third largest mission field in the world and an entire generation is growing up with little understanding of absolute truth. Yet, in what appears to be a very trying time for the Church in this nation, we believe that America is on the verge of a sweeping move of God’s Spirit that will touch every state, every county and every heart. Americans are now in desperate need of a fresh Christ Awakening.
Our community will participate in a Cry Out America rally on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the High School Auditorium. Will you join with others to cry out in prayer for our community, state, nation and world?

Maguire State Missions–Week of Prayer
Florida Baptists look to the month of September as a time of awareness, reflection and prayer for the great opportunities God has presented them in the state.
The Week of Prayer for State Missions, most often observed during the first week of September, concludes with Florida Baptists giving to support these missionary needs through the Maguire State Mission Offering.
The offering has a missionary purpose—helping new congregations through no-interest church site loans, supporting partnership pastors and spreading the gospel through evangelistic ministries.
The theme for 2011, Compelled by Christ's Compassion, is taken from the passage found in Matthew 9:36 "But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd."
If Jesus came to the cities and towns in Florida today, He would see a multi-cultural crowd of people speaking many languages. They have flocked to the Sunshine State seeking a better life, yet are still weary because they do not know Him. He would see people with desperate physical needs and no place to go. He would see people lost without a Shepherd to give them purpose, direction and hope. He would touch them in the name of the Risen Lord.
During this Season of Prayer for State Missions ask God to bless the work of Florida Baptists and their efforts to change the hearts and lives of those they touch in the name of Jesus, the Great Shepherd. Pray that Florida Baptists will be Compelled by Christ's Compassion to reach their state and their mission partners with the Good News of their Savior.

How To Be Salt and Light
We know the importance of being salt and light. We know the dangers of losing our saltiness (influence) and hiding our light - we lose our impact for Christ on the world. How do we make an impact on our world as we are commanded to be?
1. Recognize our distinctiveness makes a difference in our world. Light is different than darkness - salt is different than pepper.
2. Stay close to Christ. Salt never loses taste, but it is easy to lose saltiness in our life. "If we are not affecting our world - the world is affecting us".
3. Make our works visible. This is not doing good works for show, but living a life of holiness and obedience to the Lord. People do observe us daily. Are you 'poking holes in the darkness" today with your light?
"The serene beauty of a holy life is the most powerful influence in the world next to the power of God". - Blaise Pascal
