Good News About Grace

5 Aspects of Saving Grace:

G: Grace is God's gift to us. It is a free gift in the fact that we did not earn it, buy it or work for it. It is not based on who we are or what we have done, but what Jesus has done.

R: We receive grace by faith. Grace is based on God's promise and received by believing in Him.

A: God's grace is available to everyone. God does not play favorites. His grace is for everyone.

C: Grace comes through Christ. The law came through Moses but grace comes through Christ. He paid with His own life.

E: Grace is extended throughout eternity. Eternal life is a gift of grace and it will extend forever.

The LORD is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy. Psalms 145:8

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is the opportunity to spread the good news of the Gospel throughout the world. It is as easy as purchasing a few toys, packing them in a shoebox and praying for the child who receives it. The impact of this gesture of love is limitless.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families or groups to collect items to give. Click HERE for information on how to pack the shoebox.

Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse which is led by Franklin Graham. You can visit their site Samaritan's Purse and learn how this powerful ministry is helping those in need and sharing God's love around the world.

Watch for information in church about this project. Boxes need to be turned in November 22 when they will be prayed over in church and then taken to the local collection site.

You may drop off your canned food donations at the Live Oak Fire Department or contact Love In the Name of Christ at 364-4673. Thank you for your care and support.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Thanksgiving is on it's way!, Let's begin now to pray with thanksgiving for our blessings and seek for ways that we may be a blessing to others.

Our local Love In the Name of Christ receives numerous requests for Thanksgiving baskets for families. This year Love INC is partnering with Angel Food Ministries to provide filled and prepared Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families.
The partnership will work to meet the need in this manner: Love INC is asking churches and/or individuals to purchase a prepared Thanksgiving box for $36.00. This box includes a complete Thanksgiving dinner including ham, vegetables, dessert and a recipe sheet filled with Scripture. Requests for a Thanksgiving basket will be met according to the number of boxes purchased.
Please pray about donating a box this Thanksgiving season. For more information or to order a box, please call the Love INC office at 364-4673.
*Our church will also be seeking to meet needs that may be in our church family. We will share information about how to meet these needs as the season gets closer.

Prayer Requests This Week

Happy Monday! It is our hope that this will be a great week for you as you go about in the strength and joy of the Lord!

Some prayer requests have been mentioned that we will share here and hope that you will keep each one in your thoughts and prayers.

Frances P. has been suffering with severe neck pain and will have a doctor visit this week.

Kay B. took a fall off of a golf cart last week and is very sore, but thankful that she was not hurt. Gene said that the cart is ok too!!

Felton and Mary Lou's granddaughter Crystal suffered a miscarriage this week. Please keep Crystal, Troy and the family in your prayers for physical healing and comfort during this time.

Caroline is up north caring for her mother who will undergo surgery this week.

Kathy F.'s sister has been diagnosed with liver cancer. Treatment and options are being worked on and your prayers for healing and wisdom for the doctors is appreciated.

Please continue to remember those in our church family and community who have lost their jobs and others who are still unsure if they will lose their jobs. May God's strength and hope be with each one.

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;...I Peter 3:8

A Few Reasons Not To Complain About Your Job!

Four Things

Thought for the day:

Four Things You Can't Recover

1. The stone...after the throw

2. The word...after it is said.

3. The occasion...after it is missed.

4. The time...after it is gone.

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1.2

Beautitudes For the Home

Beatitudes for the Home

BLESSED are the husband and wife who continue to be affectionate and considerate, loving after the wedding bells have ceased ringing.

BLESSED are the husband and wife who are as polite and courteous to one another as they are to their friends.

BLESSED are they who have a sense of humor, for this attribute will be a handy shock absorber.

BLESSED are they who love their mates more than any other person in the world and who joyfully fulfill their marriage vows of lifetime of fidelity and mutual helpfulness to one another.

BLESSED are they who attain parenthood, for children are a heritage of the Lord.

BLESSED are they who remember to thank God for their food before they partake of it, and who set apart some time each day for the reading of the Bible and for prayer.

BLESSED are those mates who never speak loudly to one another and who make their home a place where "seldom is heard a discouraging word".

BLESSED are the husband and wife who faithfully attend the worship service of the church and who work together in the church for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom.

BLESSED are the husband and wife who can work out problems of adjustments without interference from relatives.

BLESSED is the couple who has a complete understanding about financial matters and who has worked out a perfect partnership with all money under the control of both.

BLESSED are the husband and wife who humbly dedicate their lives and their home to Christ and who practice the teachings of Christ in the home by being unselfish, loyal, and loving.

Blessed Is the Man..

Psalm 94:12Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD,And teach out of Your law.
Blessed and encouraged to be godly leaders in the home, church and community is what our men brought back from the Iron Sharpens Iron conference.
The men who attended the conference shared Sunday night what they received from the conference. There were over 600 men comprised of over 50 churches and 20 denominations gathered together for the purpose of seeking the Lord. The conference was covered in prayer and prepared by Florida Men of Integrity.
Our men shared about the authenticity of the speakers. They shared about being led and walking in the Spirit and that fruit was evident in their lives.
It was a special time for fathers, sons and grandsons to hear God's Word, commit to live for Him and to pray and seek the Lord together.
Our men were encouraged to be the spiritual leaders in the home. God reveals the responsibilities of the man in Ephesians 6:4. Men were encouraged to spend 30 minutes each day teaching the Bible to their families.
It was shared the legacy each man will leave for his children. Our men were encouraged to live a godly example before their children.
Our men resolved to be the man, husband and father they are called to be.
Please keep our men in prayer as they steadfastly seek to be God's man.

5 Ways To Tune In To God

Do you realize the God who created everything and reigns above all is interested in us? He cares about the smallest details of our life and welcomes us to seek Him and ask of Him. He desires to answer our prayers and commune with us.

Here are five ways to tune into God's voice:

1. Withdraw: Get alone in a quiet place. Discipline the mind to be still.

2. Wait: Calm the thoughts and emotions the run through our mind. Practice being still. God speaks to those who take time to listen.

3. Watch: Add a visual element to prayer. Picture in your mind God's Word and in prayer. Ask God to open our spiritual senses to Him (Ephesians 1:18).

4. Write:
Writing out prayers and answers helps keep prayer focused and is a reminder of our prayers and God's answers.

5. Worship: Thank God for speaking to us. When we receive God's response, our natural reaction is personal worship.

158th Homecoming

Antioch Baptist Church will celebrate their 158th Homecoming on October 11. This day is set aside each year to reflect on God's goodness through the years and to look with anticipation to His continued blessings and opportunities. It is a time for warm fellowship with church family and friends. A time for friends and family to rekindle fond memories and an opportunity to get acquainted and connected with new friends and families in the church.

A special day is planned with special guests and activities. At 9:45 AM the musical group Delivered will be ministering in music. Delivered is a group of young people who are fulfilling their calling of ministering through Southern Gospel music. Their youthfulness, sincerity, and commitment to their calling are an encouragement to people of all ages. Singing new, uplifting songs as well as bringing back songs of old is appealing to all audiences. Delivered is no stranger to Antioch and has blessed the church several times through their music, testimony and support.

Dr. Fritz Fountain will be the special speaker in the 11:00 AM service. Dr. Fountain serves as the Director of Missions in the Suwannee Baptist Association where he provides leadership and partnership to the Southern Baptist churches in our area. Dr. Fountain is an excellent example of a servant leader who actively leads and ministers along side of our churches in many areas including an association-wide mission trip each summer. You will enjoy hearing the biblical message Dr. Fountain will bring.

Following the morning service there will be a meal in the fellowship hall. The food and fellowship is sweet and abundant at Homecoming and is always a blessing. Church family is encouraged to cook plenty to share with our guests.
