A recent magazine article brought out some great parenting and church tips that would greatly benefit families today. Righteous parenting has great power and influence. A vital part of this parenting in the faithful attendance at a church fellowship. Families can together absorb the anointing of God's presence, the power of His Word being spoken and fellowshipping with others in the body of Christ. This keep our faith strong.
Our children 'catch' our attitude towards worship. If it is our desire for our children to be filled with zeal for God's house, the weekly habit of attendance should be established. It may be true that many churches today need revival, lack power and hospitality and may be boring or unattractive. But it is still possible to set a good example to the family with regular church attendance. Each church fellowship grows brighter when families bring their individual gifts, personalities and blessings into it.
Here are a few points to consider when being a part or seeking for a church home:
1. Church services can easily switch in temperature from 'up' to 'down' in a week. Consistency is part of dedication.
2. We should make allowances for different types of personalities. Try to be a blessing to them all.
3. Are you in your church to serve or to be served? There are times to sit and receive God's comfort and strength, but also times to seek to be a giver and a blessing to others.
4. When looking for a church, check the doctrine. Make sure it aligns with God's Word.
5. Does the church encourage and practice hospitality? If not, get the ball rolling! Invite a family or single person home with you. Hospitality is contagious!
6. Are there other families that you and your family could be benefited mutually by getting together?
7. Is the church interested in outreach to the community and the world?

Regular church attendance is not only wholesome for your family but also for our nation. Where would America be today if there was no church? May we make the most of the freedoms we enjoy.
Make plans this Sunday to get your family up and dressed and be the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave!
